EElizabeth’s English 111 Blog

By: Elizabeth Crotts

Today is August 16, 2023. My name, as you can read above is Elizabeth Crotts. I started this blog to fulfill my assignment for my English course but, I hope this will be more than the themes in my classroom. I have never written a blog before so; I wish for grace as I discover and understand this different genre of writing. This may not be the most entertaining blog and I could be the lamest blogger you’ve ever miserably read but, you’re still reading.

A Little Bit About Me

It is a challenge for me to write about my life, merely because I don’t think its that interesting. I’ll live and I’ll die but, that’s the cycle for every other human being on this floating rock. From the surface, I’m not special. I am just another acne-faced, confused teenager reaching for the approval of my parents and anyone else who remotely cares about me. I have a life and a story that goes with it. Though, it may not be a Best-Selling book or even reviewed as decent by the New York Times. It is the truth, and the truth can be ugly, heart-wrenching, and even unbelievable. I know my story won’t have an influence on some who read it but, I hope that it inspires someone. Who knows that someone could be YOU!!!

Elizabeth's Blog Post #20

EElizabeth’s English Blog #20 By: Elizabeth Crotts   One of my pet peeves is poor grammar. I don’t understand how people have gone far in life without forming a proper sentence. Bad punctuation and spelling bother me so much. I’ve met fully grown adults who don’t know when to use a period. Honestly, if I see grammatical issues or spelling mistakes, I will not hesitate to inform the author. I majority of the time do this respectfully but, sometimes it just blurts out of my mouth in a very blunt manner. My minor pet peeves include people who can’t close a door. Especially if it is in my room. There is no need for you to leave it cracked, just fully close the door. This also applies to windows and cabinets. Another one of my annoyances is when people leave the bathroom while brushing their teeth. I know this one is out of left field but, it just messes me up. You brush your teeth in the bathroom, not the bedroom, not the kitchen, not in your closet. Just in the bathroom...

Elizabeth's Blog Post #19

EElizabeth’s English Blog #19 By: Elizabeth Crotts   Everyone has annoyances and irritating triggers. They are typically produced when we are young by our siblings, parents, neighbors, and even strangers. We all get spontaneously irrational when someone acts or speaks a specific way. Some people hate the word “moist.” Some people hate the sound of Styrofoam or nails on the chalkboard. One of the biggest pet peeves to most people is loud, open-mouth chewing. That’s not one of my pet peeves, but I do find it gross. Just close your mouth, you are not a cow. This food isn’t cud! Moving on from what irritates the general public, I present my pet peeves. My blood does not boil faster than when other people steal my food. Those are fighting actions in my book. It’s MY FOOD. I will even clarify more if you ask for a bite and I respond no. That is my final answer. If you try stealing a French fry, I will bite off your finger and turn it into a fry. Go ahead, ask my family if ...

EElizabeth’s English 111 Blog #3 By: Elizabeth Crotts                   Interests, Advice, and Trends are the topics that largely form blog posts. I have few to no interests. No one is going to take advice from a teenager behind a computer. As well as the last known trend I was aware of was light-up, bedazzled sketchers, and Disney’s cartoon Cinderella. It’s safe to say that trend died at least a decade ago. For anyone who’s asking, yes, I did partake in those girly 2010s trends.                   I went so far into this obsession that I had a Cinderella-themed birthday party when I was five. I dressed up like Cinderella and made my parents and siblings dress up too. The party was catered by my grandmother’s business. My wonderful grandmother made me a giant castle-shaped cake with Disney princess figurines posed...
